Before you submit
Article Ethics:

JNEPHA will give high emphasis for publication to those articles that have been taken ethical clearance or approval letter from the respective ethical board or Institutional review board or from concern council from concerned country (For Nepal; Nepal Health Research Council). The researchers must have followed internationally accepted ethics standard like the Declaration of Helsinki. Every research activities must have a taken defined informed consent from the subject (in case of minor/critical case/critical sample/clinical design etc).

Authorship and Declaration:

Not everyone who works for a research is necessarily an author of a manuscript. Authorship will categorize on their involvement in research activities namely first author, second author and similarly go on. Not only Authorship but also manuscript of any article should be genuine and not fake/ghost/honorary. All authors must abide to good publication practices and if found to be involved in any kind of misconduct, JNEPHA have right to deal/penalize the article and all the authors, according to the case. Please clearly read to our declaration file (At last of Authorship and declaration form) for the terms before submitting your manuscript. Any change in authorship later could be made by corresponding in time to the editor and a signed letter from all the authors, along with a valid justification of the change is expected. The editors reserve the right to make literary corrections.

License to publish:

By submitting your manuscript to JNEPHA, you allow us to publish your work in print and online format. You will not get any benefits from JNEPHA of publication of your articles. With the publication of article, copy right will be attracted. After providing the Article Serial Code (ASC) for publication (including reviewing, revision and editing processes), you may NOT submit your work anywhere else before JNMA editorial board as decides it accepted or rejected. If in case, you want to withdraw your manuscript due to any reason, it is mandatory to submit us a notice of withdrawal (email or written) also mentioning the reason for the same. We hope that such situation never arises.

Open access policy:

JNEMA is an open access journal, meaning that anyone can freely open, read, save, share the articles published in the journal without any payment by keeping authentic referencing/acknowledgement. There is no charge for the authors and for online viewers/subscribers. Print subscriptions however, require subscription charges (Please refer to the subscription for that).

How to submit?
All manuscripts should be submitted via email at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it., addressed shortly to the editor of JEPHA. The attachment of the email should contain:
1. Forwarding Letter
2. Authorship and Declaration Form
3. Manuscript
4. Ethical declaration/approval whenever necessary
5. Two page resume of First Author
6. Additional files like images (figures/pictures) etc.

All images are expected to be in colour (unless the original is in greyscale like a picture of electrophoresis), high quality, and with a proper name. All the captions of tables and figures/images must have been provided in the manuscript file where it is meant to be. Any citation for the table/figure also must be explicitly mentioned in the manuscript reference section.

Manuscript format: The manuscript must be in provided template. For detail Download the document and write your manuscript over it (Please do not change its MS word in other form KEEP IN MIND FOR THE SUBMISSION OF MANUSCRIPT YOU MUST HAVE WORD 7 VERSION. The manuscript can be singly spaced with normal or moderate margin. If possible insert your signature or write his/her name on behalf of other author. We NEVER accept manuscripts in .PDF (Adobe Acrobat), or scanned image format. It has to be typed and editable.

Other important instructions for authors while preparing manuscripts:

1.    For original articles, the reporting format should be internationally accepted. I.e. CONSORT for randomised controlled trial, STARD for studies of diagnostic accuracy, QUOROM for systematic reviews and meta-analysis, MOOSE for meta-analysis and observational studies in epidemiology, and SQUIRE for qualitative studies reporting quality improvement in healthcare. 
2.    The length of the article is differ for different articles please click here to see (Key words must be arranged alphabetically at the end of abstract)
3.   Reference (citation) should be in Vancouver system refers to reference document. Please note that JNEPHA follows few adaptation of the system as: 
  a.   Superscripts should be used for numbering rather than brackets in text.
  b. Numbers should be inserted to the left of colons and semi-colons.
  c. Reference numbers should be placed after full stop in superscript.
  d. et al should be placed after the four authors if applicable.
  e. It is important that the punctuation and form is consistently applied to the whole document.
4   The language of the script should be British English.
5   For every clinical or public health, term uses Generic names or scientific word should be used. This words must be in italic form
6   Tables: Each table must have a number and a caption (title). It should be place on top of the table. The caption should read like "Table 1: Table title"
7   Figures: Each figure (image/picture) must have a number and a caption (title). It should be placed at the bottom right of the figure. The caption should read like "Figure 1: Figure title"
8   Units of measurements: If possible, please provide the units in SI (International System).
9   Date in the manuscript should be A.D.
10   Abbreviations (Acronyms): If abbreviations are used, it should be written in full for the first time along with the abbreviation. Then after you may use the abbreviation only. Standard English abbreviations can be used without its full form. For example: "e.g." for "example"
11   If a number is starting a sentence, please spell it out if. For e.g. "Five cases have been reported so far…." Please spell out single digit numbers. For e.g. "…is found to be six percent…"
12   For acronym; Use complete in first and acronym in bracket, then after use short form for eg. Nepal Public Health Association (NEPHA).....then after....use NEPHA 
13   Contraction: Please do not write in contractions if possible. For e.g. "don't" in place of "do not"
14   JNEPHA may proceed with legal actions if needed in appropriate cases. 
15   If authors of a published article subsequently become aware of a significant error in it, they should send a notifying letter to the editor of JNEPHA as soon as possible. If the mistake is judged significant enough to warrant a published correction, the correction will be made as an “erratum” if the fault is JNEPHA’s; “correction” if the fault is the author’s.
16   The decision of the editor will be final, even in case of any confusion.
     
Additional information
To maximize the chance of acceptance and publication of your article, please do the followings:
1   All the documents have to be submitted at once (as listed above).
2   Please stick to the JNEPHA guidelines for authors. If in doubt, please ask the editor via email.
3   We will be communicating you (corresponding author) via email address provided. So please make sure that it is correct and check it regularly.
4   Personal calls to any editorial team member will not be entertained. Kindly stick to the official email address of JNEPHA (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) only for all official correspondences. 
5   Regular mailing is evidence of acceptance of article for publication itself. However, when accepted, the author will receive mail from JNEPHA.
6   Average time for publication from first correspondence to the result of review is three months. In selected cases it may require longer due to various reasons.
